Galaxy Exit Strategy
 

1. Go to a near asteroid and extract materials, such as Platinum, to afford later trips.

2.. Using the asteroid, build a mobile city with rotating units. Artificial gravity is needed for human health, to grow a wide variety of plants, and to perform certain material processing and manufacturing activities. Water can be extracted from the asteroid for making oxygen and hydrogen. Later, focus on extracting water and Nitrogen primarily from cometary asteroids. 

3. Later launches can bring up livestock, fish, fowl, and other earth life which we can move into our rotating units.

4. Once ready, and fully mobile, we can head out as needed into deeper space but always within reach of good sized rocks and cometary asteroids for life support and material needs.
